who's afraid of virginia woolf? I saw the excellent play Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? tonight (with udg, aphid and jessie, tony and susan), which was kind of appropriate because George and Martha are a pretty scary couple when you think about it... What a dysfunctional marriage. And what a darkly humorous play! Our Most Assiduous Reader will recall that I like that play, and that I had a July 4 evening which reminded me of it.
So then I came home for some last minute late-night Halloween prep work. I already have a nice jack-o-lantern for our office party which I carved for russcon last night and coated the cut surfaces with some vaseline to help keep it from drying and shriveling (based on advice I read on a jack-o-lantern web page). Last year I was the only one in costume at work; this year there should be a little more participation as it was hyped a bit, and there are some prizes for costumes and jack-o-lanterns (which I volunteered to moderate; naturally I'll be using Single Transferable Vote aka "Australian Style" elections). We'll see how many costumes and jack-o-lanterns there really are. I seem to get into Halloween more than most people I know, and just finished doing a bit of late-night hair modification, heh.
Tomorrow being Halloween (I plan to go see Maggie Drennon play, and maybe hit a party or two and/or sixth street), and then Saturday/Sunday being the
Austin Celtic Fest, means I'm going to be busy all weekend (actually missing Sunday Esperanto club, since the Celtic Fest is The Best Weekend Of The Year), and exhausted by the end of it all. Yow!
