    something negative about kerry
Yesterday, [info]elgrande recently left a comment observing that I never seem to say anything negative about Kerry. That's not actually true (as I replied to him, which I'll translate here for English speakers!): I've complained about his middle-of-the-road "gays should have all the rights of marriage, but it shouldn't be called marriage" stance - I honestly think and hope that in a decade or two people who opposed gay marriage will be looked back on as we now look back on people who opposed interracial marriage; and I've complained about Kerry's increasingly bloody talk about "kill all the terrorists" as the prime means of addressing the problem of terrorism, totally ignoring the conditions which drive people to commit terrrorism just like Bush ignores it. (In fact [info]xomox and I just talked about the latter issue last night at his halloween party - thanks for the invite, xomox!)

So now today, in a strange cosmic coincidence, I get one of those "I dare you to print this" type letters from a Bush supporter, which informed me that some apparently nondisruptive peaceful Catholics were barred entry to a Kerry rally, so here you go: the account from Kim who was there.Read more... )

    "a little gift"
Hurray, Osama Bin Laden is still alive and making videotapes! The Bush campaign is very pleased about this.

"We want people to think 'terrorism' for the last four days," said a Bush-Cheney campaign official. "And anything that raises the issue in people's minds is good for us."

A senior GOP strategist added, "anything that makes people nervous about their personal safety helps Bush."

He called it "a little gift."

Hura, Osama Bin-Laden ankoraŭ vivas kaj verkas videobendojn!
