fucking computer bullshit
Hodiaŭ nia Linksys-"router" (konektilo inter komputiloj kaj interreto) kondutis fuŝe kaj ne permesis konekti al interreto. Koincide mia malnova Windows-komputilo ĉesis funkcii, kaj plendis pri malfunkcia memoro, do malfacilis trovi kia estis la efektiva problemo. La DSL-servo telefone informis nin ke laŭ iliaj testoj ili povis vidi nian konektilon. Mi eksuspektis ke la konektilo estis la problemo, kaj ĝi iel rompiĝis samtempe kiel la malnova komputilo eble pri subita tro da elektro, sed tiam nia plej malnova komputilaĉo povis funkcii interrete senprobleme, do mi supozis ke iel mia nova komputilo misagordiĝis (ĝi miskondutis lastatempe kun malĝuste horloĝo ankaŭ). Sed mi ne povis refunkciigi ĝin. Tiam mistere la Windows-komputilo refunkciis, kaj la konektilo ekfunkciis por mia nova komputilo, sed kvazaŭ ŝtelis atenton de la konektilo de la malnova komputilo, kvazaŭ la konektilo nur volus servi unu komputilon samtempe. Tiam ĉiuj tri funkciis kiel normale denove. Verŝajne tia problemo de hazarda miskonekto fojfoje okazas ĉe Linksys (kaj eble aliaj markoj), laŭ mia legado de forumoj. Mi malamas tiajn temporabajn frustrajn problemojn kun malklara solvo.
Today our Linksys router behaved badly and wouldn't connect. Coincidentally my old Windows computer stopped working, and complained of a memory fault, so it was hard to find what was the actual problem. The DSL provider told us by phone that they tested and could see our router. I started to suspect the router was the problem, and that might have been zapped at the same time as the old computer by a power surge, but then the oldest crappiest computer could connect to the internet with no problem, so I supposed that my new computer somehow got misconfigured (it's been behaving strangely lately with a wrong clock also). But I couldn't get it working again. Then mysteriously the Windows computer started working again, and the router started working for my Linux box, but seemed to have stolen the router's attention from the crappy old computer, as if the router only wanted to serve one computer at a time. Then all 3 started working like normal again. Seemingly this kind of problem of random disconnects sometimes happens with Linksys (and maybe other brands), according to some reading in forums. I hate such time-wasting irritating problems with no clear solution.
