ĥaosa semajno kun gastoj kaj teatraĵoj
La pasinta semajno estis ĥaosa kvankam ĝenerale plaĉa. Multaj aferoj okazis, sed plej gravaj estis ke koincide vizitis nin 2 gastoj samtempe:
Unu estis couchsurfing-ulo, afabla malstreĉa ulo kiun interesis teatra festivalo nun en Vroclavo. Li vojaĝis multe en sia vivo, inkluzive al Barato kiel ni, do ni ĝuis konversaciojn pri landoj, kulturoj, vivmanieroj, ktp. Li kaj mi iris malfrunokte al trinkejo kie kuniĝis multaj el la festivalaj partoprenantoj, kaj ludis loka muzika duopo kun tre plaĉa muziko, kiun mi priskribus kiel ia miksaĵo de lokaj popolaj stiloj kun mezorientaj influoj. Mi ĝuis danci tiam. Sed tiaj malfruaj noktoj vere fuŝis mian produktivan rutinon konstruitan lastatempe. Li petis 2 noktojn kaj finfine restis 4 - jen mia sola plendo pri li, ke li emis supozi ke, ĉar ni kongruis sufiĉe bone li ne bezonis peni trovi sekvan sofon ĉe iu alia gastiganto.
Alia estis doktorkandidato pri sociologio kiu esploras la historion de Esperanto en mez- kaj orient-Eŭropo dum la komunismaj tempoj. Ŝi vizitis diversajn urbojn por intervjui Esperantistojn kiuj aktivis en tiu periodo. Ĉe ni ŝi gastis 1 nokton (kvazaŭ 2, ĉar ŝia trajno foriris tre malfrunokte la duan nokton), kaj mi gvidis ŝin al kelkaj lokaj Esperantistoj, inkluzive unu kiu afable rakontis pri multaj interesaj eventoj tiutempe, ekzemple pri la fifamaj problemoj kun pagitaj agentoj kiuj aliĝis grupoj por spioni kaj raporti al la registaro. (Li ankaŭ afable pruntdonis al mi utilan sed malnovan libron, kiun mi devas legi por la poznanaj studoj sed ne povis trovi nek por aĉeti nek por legi rete). Aparte impresis min, ke ŝi eklernis Esperanton antaŭ nur monato, sed jam bone komprenas multan parolon - mi oftege tute ne bezonis traduki el Esperanto por ŝi dum la intervjuoj. Ŝi malpli memfide parolas, tamen ege pli bone ol kutima komencanto post nur unu monato!
Ambaŭ gastoj pensas simile kiel ni pri kulturo, politiko, ktp, kaj estis tre agrable pasigi tempon kaj babili kun ili.
Hieraŭ okazis "nokto de teatro" en la urbo, kiam multaj teatroj prezentis spektaklojn malpli koste ol kutime. Ni iris unue al pupteatraĵo pri Marlene Dietrich, kiu estis teĥnike mirinde. Unu aktorino el Toruno rolis asistanto al MD kaj samtempe manipulis homgrandan pupon kiu estis MD mem. Ŝi parolis ambaŭ voĉojn, tre distingeblajn, kaj la korpaj movoj estis mirinde konvinkaj kaj plaĉaj, kaj okazis multaj surprizaj magiaj efektoj, tiel ke la MD-pupo vere ŝajnis vivi. Tiaj teatraĵoj vere plaĉas al mi. Krome ŝi prezentis ĝin angle (plus kantado en diversaj lingvoj), do mi bone komprenis sen la kutimaj lingvoj bariloj, kiujn mi spertas en polaj teatraĵoj.
Due ni iris al Smycz, ekde longe kuranta en loka teatro. Koincide ankaŭ temis pri nur unu aktoro, kaj li impresegis min per energio, kanta talento, korpa talento en iom surreala tragikomedio verŝajne pri amo, perdo, despero, ktp. Li rolis multajn personojn kun spritaj kostumŝanĝoj ktp. Krome ludis viva muzikbando tre bone. La parolado estis pola, kaj mi preskaŭ nenion komprenis ĉar la lingva nivelo estis sufiĉe malfacila, sed bonŝance estis lumaj supertekstoj en la angla - mi ne scias ĉu kutime aŭ ĉu nur pro la samtempe festivalo, kiu allogis multajn eksterlandanojn al la urbo. Certe estis ege pli multaj nepoloj en la spektantaro ol kutime.
We had a busy week, with 2 couchsurfing guests by chance at the same time and also a couple of plays.
The first guest was a mellow friendly guy who came for a theater festival. He's traveled a lot in his life, including to India like us, so we enjoyed conversations about travel, countries, culture, lifestyles, etc. He and I also went to some late night pub with a concert by a local duet playing a sort of fusion of local folk music with some middle eastern influence, I think, which I enjoyed dancing to. Such late nights really wreaked havoc with my recent better-disciplined routine, alas. My only real problem with the visit was that it stretched out from the request/expected 2 nights to 4 nights, since he was feeling so comfortable with us that he seemed to slack off a bit on searching his next host.
The second guest was a grad student doing sociological research about the history of Esperanto in central and eastern Europe during the communist governments. She visited various cities to interview older Esperantists who were active in those times. She couchsurfed with us and I guided her to some local Esperantists, including one who was quite active and was kind enough to spend a long afternoon with us telling many interesting stories about the old days, e.g. the infamous problems of paid agents who infiltrated groups to spy and report to the government. (He also nicely loaned me a book I need for the Poznań studies but couldn't find to buy or read online.) I was particularly impressed that she understood spoken Esperanto so well that I very often didn't need to translate at all for her, despite her only starting to learn it a month ago! Faster progress than a typical beginner.
Both the guests were on the same sort of wavelength as us culturally, politically, etc and it was good hanging out chatting with them about life, the universe, and everything.
Last night was a "night of theater" with reduced ticket prices and many shows in the city. We went first to a puppet theater show about Marlene Dietrich which was technically astonishing. A one-woman show, the actress (from Toruń) played both MD's assistant and also MD herself, who was a lifesize puppet the actress manipulated. She played both voices, quite distinctively and well, and did all kinds of brilliant movement effects and techniques, so that the MD puppet truly seemed alive as they danced, fought, etc. A true "magic of theater" experience of the sort I love. It was also in English (plus songs sung in various languages) so I understood fine, unlike my usual experiences in Polish theater.
The second show we then went to was Smycz, a long-running play by a local theater here. Coincidentally it was also a one-man show, and a real tour de force by an actor with high energy, singing talent, and the acting ability to play many different roles in sequence. It was in Polish and the language level was sufficiently sophisticated that I understood practically nothing, but lucky for me there were some projected English supertitles that helped (despite being riddled with spelling and grammar errors). I don't know if they usually show it with the supertitles, or only for the festival happening at the same time - there were indeed far more foreigners than usual in the audience.
